Today concluded the third week of the meet. My early tenure has been marked by a lack of confidence. I have 27 wins after 14 handicapping days. The Saratoga Special does not publish on Monday except for today because of the sales starting tonite. I had 3 wins today and I have been very disappointed with my handicapping so far. I am missing too many long shot horses. I don't really care if I don't hit any favorites on top.

Today, I went to watch the races from the backstretch. As soon as the horses hit the track for the first race, a monsoon hit and they ran the first race in a driving rainstorm. By the start of the 2nd race, the sun was shining. I drove home to Long Island after the second race. I ran into a 10minute thunderstorm with the sun shining the entire time. Weird.
